NCDC Officials Flee From Kogi State
Officials of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, have reportedly fled Kogi State shortly after Governor Yahaya Bello’s directive asking them to go into isolation at the state quarantine centre for fourteen days.
Governor Bello had ordered the leader of the officials of the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Dr Andrew Noah to go into isolation at the state quarantine centre for fourteen days or leave the state immediately if they refused. They ran away.
The rule now is anyone going into a state from another must be quarantined or go into isolation for 14days.
Intact, it is a universal law now.
NCDC officials went to Kogi state to conduct coronavirus test. Gov Bello said they must quarantined and tested. They ran away. The question is are to be exempted from the directives of the Federal and state governments? Is there any law that says they shouldn’t be quarantined? Are they immuned to the disease? So they test others and no one tests them?
Bello thinks they are importing coronavirus to his state. Is it not better for them to prove him wrong by subjecting themselves to a test? Bello says NCDC officials have being pressurizing his state that there are coronavirus cases and people are dying from it.
Why didnt these officials prove suspecting Nigerians that the fight against coronavirus is not being politicized and they are not just adding numbers ?
Dr.Chikwe Ihekweazu, director-general of the NCDC and Gov Yaya Bello should resolve their differences as quickly as possible to save the lives of the common people.
